  2. Baby Narmada- Contributed one month blood expenses for Baby Narmada who was admitted in Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai for her Blood Cancer treatment.

This camp was intended to help the 612 thalasemia (a genitic blood disorder) effected chlidren in the state of andhra pardesh same as the Previous camp. Revanth reddy a student of that college helped us organise this camp.

Blood Donation Camp

Jeevansahya/CAST along with Indian red Cross society arranged a blood donation camp for Thallesemia affected kids who are red cross inmates.

venue : st. Mary's college of Engg and tech, deshmukh (near ramoji film city), Hyderabad.



468 members donated blood

The total requirement of Red cross blood bank was about 800 units of blood per month to help the children affected by thallesemia, this time jeevansahya alone has provided more than half of the total requirement

Severe Live Problem of a poor man’s Wife Aruwe – Social Welfare Organisation A scavenger sukumaran’s wife was affected badly by liver problem. Even after several operations and short term cures, she reached a serious stage for curing which a huge amount was required for medical expenses and the major operation expenses. Our moderator Dinesh met Sukumaran (the patient’s husband) to study the case. As the surgery was already over with the help of other donations, We provided fund for the post surgery medical expenses for the patient.
Vocal & Nasal diseased sufferer – A coolie’s son and a college student. Aruwe – Social Welfare Organisation Premnath, a college student whose family was run through his mom’s collie wages, had some problem with the nasal system and could not breath through nose and lost his speech. so he had a surgery to fit a tube in throat through which he speaks with everybody. His family managed somehow to make the operation done. But there came a stage when he had to get this tube replaced. His family members were not able to manage the huge amount for his second operation. But if this operation was not done he might have to survive his life breathing through mouth and we don’t know how long that goes.
We collected donation through online group email communication and transfer of amount and a representative along with Aruwe gave the amount for operation to Premnath’s Dad in the hospital. Premnath operation was success and he has got a permanent cure for his breathing problem now. Aruwe Head Aspy conveyed her Heartfelt Thanks to our donors for giving a new life to Premnath. Premnath's father has also conveyed his Thanks for saving his son's life. He has called many of our contributors and has personnally thanked them.
EMERGENCY!! Accident case Santosh in Andrapradesh Friend of group member Santosh, a Btech final year student(VITAM College of Engineering) hailing from Visakhapatnam, met with a tragic accident on 26th of march 2007, where he hit his two-wheeler to a divider. Unfortunately, his friend who was accompanying him could not survive. Santosh went though three surgeries one for his abdomen and two for his legs He underwent treatment at the Seven Hills Hospital of Visakhapatnam.

The total expenses for his recovery were estimated to be about 3.5 lakhs. Few contributors from our group had sent an amount and received the receipt for the same and now, by God’s grace and the help from CAST and some more friends, he is safe and sound and is recovering from the tragic accident.
Antony from nellore Aruwe He had only one leg, lost his another leg. Doctors analysed and found that an artificial leg can be fitted for him. He required an artificial leg to save himself and his adopted daughter. It costed around Rs.15,000 for fit an artificial leg for him. Good hearted antony did not have money to proceed for the operation and the case came to us through Aruwe.
We sponsored the amount for Antony’s artificial leg implantation after which he was able to move with crutches and also survive with his adopted daughter.
Jagadeesh Surgery Fund Friend’s Circle Jagadeesh met with a bike accident in bangalore. And his spinal cord was injured and also underwent a surgery in bangalore hospital. he spent already more than 1.5 lakhs and now they were not having sufficient funds to meet the hospital expenceses. His company and friends donated some amount which was not sufficient. Some of us transefered amount to Jagadeesh’s friend and a representative kept us updated about his health status by meeting him regularly in the Bangalore hospital.
Kidney Failure of Kid Dyson from Nagercoil   A poor fisherman’s son, a very active boy suddenly fell sick, and was later on diagonsed as renal failure. Doctors recommened for dialysis and kidney transplant. His mother herself decided to donate her kidney. There was severe financial crunch as father is the only person who has to take care of both the mother and son. So there is no means of income for the family. They have another son who is doing his 6th std. The child was admitted in Stanley Hospital chennai.
On hearing this case, some of the group members came forward and donated amount for Dyson. - he his very happy and gone back to his native place now. only once in 15days he has to come to chennai for the test. he will be rejoining to school from next academic year.
Congenital heart disease – Thathammal Friend’s Neighbour a poor girl who was suffering from congenital heart disease. She was badly in need of money for the surgery and hospital expenses. Few members donated an amount for Thathammal’s surgery. Thattammal was operated. She is back to home and fine now.

Arul - cardiac intervention Aruwe a social worker Mr. Arul had to undero immediate cardiac intervention at Madras Medical Mission in chennai on 18th October 2007. His mother is suffering from Cancer and he is the only hope to save his family. Arul raised about Rs.1,35,000 there was a shortage amount is Rs.75.000.
Few group friends donated an amount to Arul. Surgery got over successfully and Arul is fine now. He is getting recovered.
Kid Sidharth Friends circle Mr V.SRINIVASAN'S Six years old Son S. SIDHARTH was admitted in
APOLLO SPECIALTY HOSPITAL for the compliant of HEAD INJURY WITH BRAIN COLLAPSE. He was in Emergency ward. Doctors told that the operation expenses
will be more than Rs.10,00,000. Apart from what friends had contributed a huge amount was yet insufficient.
We spread this news in group email and orkut and received contributions from many people. Kid Sidharth is fine and the family thanked the contributors whole heartedly.

3. Other successful activities:

  1. Lifetime Sponsorship for Old Grannys

    ARUWE has a old age home were nearly 15 Old granny’s are staying. These granny's are homeless. They are betrayed by thier own son's & daughters. They are longing for LOVE and sponsorship for their food & medicine. Few of the team members came forward to sponser for atleast one year for 2 Granny's.

  2. Sponser a kid for education!

    Vimala School, Nesappakam, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.. We have many students who are sent out of school because they didnt pay thier fees. These kids are mostly single parent kids. So his/her family is also not able to afford for thier studies.

    A group member, Ramesh came forward and helped by giving life time education sponsorship to one kid. By Spreading the news in orkut and group email, we got few more sponshorships for few more kids.

  3. Virtual Adoption

    We adopted a child virtually from Aruwe, A registered social welfare organization. Virtual means- We will not be able to bring the child and keep her with us...but bare the whole amount for her life expences. We can meet her once in a while and spend time with her... May be on her birthday or any special day.

  4. Sponser onetime food!

    Sponsor special lunch and dinner for aruwe's inmates on your birthdays or anniversaries(it costs very less)..Its purely like giving birthday treat to the elders and kids in your family

    By spreading this news in orkut and group email, we managed to get few one time food sponsorship for Aruwe’s inmates.

  5. Leprosy Patients in Chengalpettu

    At chengalpattu,around 200+ households earns a living by begging alms. all these people are leprosy patients.they ve a small association headed by kumar(who is a leprosy patient himself).they receive sarees & dhothis during christmas every year from a christian association & no other help has been received by them until date. all the households runs from the meagre amount that is got from the alms......... can they be helped in any way? We helped in generating a report on this case.

  6. Christmas celebration @ Aadarana

    Jeevansahya celebrated 2007 chritmas with the 45 kids in aadarana orphanage at hyderabad . We along with the a organisation called shrama served them lunch along with sweets and some gifts for those cute kids who performed some dances and sang some songs to entertain us.

  7. Visit to Hand's Of Care In chennai
